AGREEMENT TO TERMS

1. Welcome to netsafe.org.nz (the “Site”), a website hosted and operated by Netsafe (“we”, “our”, “Netsafe”).

These terms apply to the entire contents of the Site. By viewing and using the Site, you will be deemed to agree to these terms.

All copyright in materials published on education.netsafe.org.nz is owned by Netsafe Incorporated (Registered Incorporated Society No. 1132428).

3. HECTOR’S WORLD(TM) Intellectual Property

HECTOR’S WORLD(TM) is a registered trademark owned by Netsafe Incorporated.

All copyright in materials related to HECTOR’S WORLD(TM) (including, but not limited to the concepts, characters, stories, and artwork) is owned by Netsafe Incorporated (Registered Incorporated Society No. 1132428).

You must not reproduce these materials (either in whole or in part) without the prior written permission of Netsafe Incorporated.

Where permission to reproduce HECTOR’S WORLD(TM) materials has been provided, appropriate and clear attribution of intellectual property ownership must be displayed proximate to the reproduced material.

4. Limited Licence

With the exception of Hector’s World(TM) materials and material created by people outside of Netsafe (which could include for example some articles, illustration or other links in which the original creators retain the copyright in that material), material on netsafe.org.nz is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial ShareAlike 4.0 International Licence. This means that you are free to copy, distribute and adapt such material, as long as you attribute the material to Netsafe and abide by the other licence terms.

5. Linking by you

You may include links from your site to our websites. However, we reserve the right to prohibit your linking to our websites at any time, and you must remove or cease any link at our request.

You must not:

(a) frame any part of the material on one of our websites by including advertising or other revenue-generating material,

(b) modify, edit or otherwise interfere with any of our websites or any material on any of our websites.

If you do create a link to any page on one of our websites, you are responsible for the consequences of that link. You will keep us indemnified against all costs, expenses and damages we may suffer or incur arising from, or in connection with, that link.

Guidelines for linking to Netsafe and Kete websites

If you link to our websites from your website you must adhere to the following:

  1. When somebody clicks on a link you create to one of our or websites, they must see our website full screen and not in a frame.
  2. You and your website must not misrepresent your relationship with us. Do not refer to us as apartner unless we have given you our express written permission to do so.
  3. We recommend that you link to main pages of our websites only. Links to other 
    pages of our websites may be less reliable.

6. Communications

Registered users of the Kete agree to receive occasional email communications from Netsafe which will be sent to the email address provided, in relation to new or updated resources or advice relating to Netsafe services for schools and kura.

However, it is only general information, intended to give guidance and Netsafe accepts no responsibility or liability for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
