What we've always done

For years, our approach has involved visiting schools in person, delivering presentations and workshops for teachers, school leadership and parents. While these sessions have been valuable in their own way, we are increasingly mindful that flying across the country and driving to schools isn’t the most efficient use of resources.

As stewards of taxpayer funding, it’s our responsibility to make sure that every dollar counts—and that means finding smarter, more sustainable ways to support schools and kura and their communities.

  • Limited reach

The traditional in-person service means we don't get as much opportunity to connect with regional and rural schools and kura that can be hard to get to.

  • By appointment only

In-person sessions require forward planning months in advance, which reduces our ability to flex, react and adapt to changing needs

  • High cost

Although provided free of charge to the attendees, in-person sessions prove to be a costly service when flights, car hire and hotels are involved.

  • Inconvenient

Even though sessions are typically scheduled for after school and work hours, it can still be inconvenient for parents and teachers to be away from home in the evening to attend in-person.
